Addiction is a chronic, progressive and often fatal and I came too close to finding out for myself.

In the trenches of hundreds of AA and NA meetings and after much research on the topic, I found that the relapse rate of alcoholics and addicts in early recovery was extremely high, and completely unnecessary.

Simply – the current system is broken, and needs to be fixed.

My life experience, together with the miracle of my own recovery, has given me the necessary skills and opportunities to truly help anyone who wants to find a new way of life away from the bondage of addiction.

I made it my sole mission to find out everything about addiction recovery that worked. I turned the entire system upside down and inside out until I had every answer.

With the assistance of our team, we constructed the ultimate long term sustainable recovery programme which is accessible, affordable and that actually works. I began the Recovery Direct model based on “cutting out the bullshit” and “clutter”, obviously failed processes and focused only on the most direct areas that supported success. Much of this model hinges on the psychological resolution of patients’ trauma experiences.

Over time I began to drive this train of thought back into the business community and people living semi-functional lives with addiction and the response was overwhelming.

I started to educate employers that helping staff to get into recovery is a way better option. Helping addicts and families – both in the workplace and at home to reach and meet their recovery goals.

The programme is one of the few that addresses the underlying trauma issues on which addiction feeds. We also run individual counselling sessions, as well as group sessions using skype and other modern technology. So recovery is now available to everybody, from a team of highly skilled professionals as well as a recovering addict, alcoholic, or process addiction patient from the comfort of your own homes and work places.

This programme is unlike any other and if the past few years’ success has been any indicator, we have managed to turn the tables on addiction recovery success rates, hopefully for good.

Please give us a call. We can help.

Why Traditional Drug & Alcohol Recovery Services Simply Don’t Work?

Recovering individuals through spiritual guidance (as found in the 12 step programs) can serve in some cases as merely a component to long term addiction rehabilitation.

While most competing rehab centres will pitch a “12 Step” “Minnesota model” as a basis of drug addiction treatment, the reality is that truly understanding patients requirements is far more important in dealing with the long-term recovery from addiction.

Over time, individuals that have become accustomed to their habitual addictions cause severe psychological patterns to ingrain into their day to day lives.

This process is driven by underlying pain, guilt, and shame that perpetuate their cycle making it hard to break free.

There is an undeniable link between trauma and addiction which is not adequately addressed in other “evidence-based” drug treatment centres. For this reason, Recovery Direct focuses on specialised trauma counselling tailored to the individual and hosted by a range of professionals.

The traditional “Minnesota Model” of treatment is based largely on the “Anonymous” “Twelve-step programme” which is proven to be ineffective for the majority of people entering rehab or recovery for the first time.

Modern alcohol and drug addiction recovery require a dedicated treatment programme tailored to each individual patient’s needs. There is no one-size-fits all addiction treatment program. Recovery has to fit into of the patient’s lives after they leave our centres.

“It’s easy to detox and keep someone clean and sober for 3 weeks, just take away their drugs.”
Recovery may start with detox in a hospital, but it requires a fundamental shift within the individuals themselves for it to continue outside the rehab environment and to be successful in everyday life.

My focuses on preparing the individual for a variety of re-integration strategies that are absolutely unique to each patient. The extended aftercare programmes offer that support structure and are available to patients both locally and internationally.

Break the cycle, develop the life skills, handle cravings, avoid relapse triggers and start a constructive path forward.

Understanding addiction as a highly destructive social issue and not a moral failing often helps families to understand their role in treatment when it comes to both financial and support. The more we unpack about ourselves psychologically, the more we are able to understand the mechanics that drive our addictions and how to effectively treat each problem.

Psychotherapy, however, is not the only answer to the problem of addiction.

Treatment involves five key areas starting with the physical cessation of the substance, handling of the psychological patterns that have developed through the addiction, introduction to support systems, goal setting and ongoing training, actualisation and long-term relapse prevention training/life coaching, specialists in new patient assessments, private and workplace interventions and multi-substance addiction cases.
Professional guidance saves a lot of time, effort and money in focusing on the problems up-front and dealing with them accordingly.

This location offers immense privacy and seclusion where discretion is a valued attribute and patients can retreat to establish successful paths to their personal recovery. As a premium treatment centre, we cater to the requirements of patients who are treated with care and respect. While our centre is a five-star graded facility (with all the bells and whistles) it simply serves as a window to our treatment model.
